AN OPEN LETTER TO TOWN AND COUNTRY PONY LEAGUE PARENTS
For the past two seasons, I have been honored to capture memories of your children for you on the T&C fields.
This year, the T&C Pony League Board informed me that they felt that I should contribute a portion of my earnings to the League.
After analyzing their requests from a business perspective, I have come to the conclusion that meeting their terms would drive profitability of the
business down to the point where it would no longer make sense to provide the service. I began shooting action shots for T&C at the request of
several parents who saw me photographing my own child; and when I made things more formal, the idea was never to make a huge profit. Spend some time
with Google and you will find that the prices I charged were the lowest you will find anywhere - and my production costs and labor time are very
significant. For each 8 hours that I typically spent at the field each Saturday, there were typically 8-10 hours of sorting through the photos,
preparing them for posting, and posting them to the web site, plus time to process orders, prepare flyers, etc. Trust me when I say that I wasn't
making gobs of money at this - I was paid more in the smiles, thank-yous, and the several kind comments than I was monetarily. Even when my daughter
stopped playing, I wanted to continue to provide this service for you - because as a parent myself, I know that when you look at one of the pictures,
you will know that they will never be that age again - the memories are precious. Unfortunately, I won't be able to do that for you
anymore.
All orders that are already received AND paid will be processed and shipped out. All orders that were not already paid as of March 5th will be
cancelled. No new orders will be accepted.
Best,
Joe Tomasone
